Plot

There isn't much of a plot as this was more of a prototype, trying to replicate the NES, SNES, and GameBoy style of Zelda games.

The little plot I added was to try and find your way to the oasis in this desert.

...though, I did add 3 Easter Eggs. This was when I was pretty new to game development, so I mean it literally. There are three hidden eggs in the game. There used to be be a MySQL table hooked up so people could put their name in when they found the Easter Eggs. Now it is just bragging rights, but feel free to tweet me a screenshot or something if you find it!

About

This was pretty early in game development - not the very beginning but might be the oldest game on my website - so I was basically just trying to replicate a lot of features and mechanics in the classic Zelda games, as in the NES, SNES, and GameBoy era.

I didn't want to just re-create the Link character but I wanted him to use a sword, so a ninja was the first thing to come to mind. Why is a Ninja in a desert fighting slimes? No clue! I think a ninja - in all black - was easier to draw and animate than other warriors or whatnot.

Besides getting to the Oasis and finding the three easter eggs, there isn't much to it, just some open layouts and slimes. But I still enjoy this one even after 8 years!
